Child Well-being

At. St. Philip’s Catholic Primary, we believe in providing the best care for our children, whether this be within the classroom or outside.  By working with our families, we want to not only ensure the physical health of our children is cared for, but also the mental health.  This means offering support to those children affected by Mental Health issues.

Given the current global climate, Mental Health discussions are now in focus more than ever and it can be a very worrying time for all families. To help with this, we have gathered together some resources that we hope will help.

Online Safety

With the world becoming ever more digital, it is now more important than ever that we all understand the risks and dangers of entering the online world.  It is not just children that are at risk online, but adults can also fall foul to the risks of using the internet.

Over the past few years we have also seen an decrease in children's mental wellbeing relating to social media. We understand that the internet and social media is a huge part of all our lives now and can be very helpful, but we should also be aware of the dangers and how to keep ourselves and our children safe whilst accessing these. Below are some useful links that we hope can help with this.

Thinkuknow Thinkuknow is the education programme from NCA-CEOP, a UK organisation which protects children both online and offline.

St. Philip's can also provide emotional support sessions with our learning mentor, Mrs Michelle Fox, or Mrs Denise Shone, who works with us through our partnership with Catholic Care.  These sessions aim to provide a secure, safe environment where children can express their concerns or worries.  If you think your child would benefit from one of these sessions please get in touch with your child/children's teacher who can arrange contact.

If you would like any further information regarding mental health please get in touch with your child's class teacher.
